It had taken Yamamoto a pretty long time to figure out what was going on in his chest. He’d never really thought much about love and romance, too focused on baseball. Then, all of a sudden, he was stuck in the thick of infatuation.

 

Tsuna stared at Yamomoto with wide eyes. He glanced in Belphegor’s direction. “...Him? Are you… sure?”

Yamamoto laughed, leaning forward, propped up by his hands on the seat between his thighs. “I don’t know, he’s kinda funny.”

Tsuna looked hesitant, very clearly disagreeing. “I, uh, guess as long as you know what you’re getting yourself into.”

The grin on Yamamoto’s face was all teeth. “Yeah, I know.” He got on his feet, walking backwards as he continued talking. “I don’t think I’d be bored with him.”

Tsuna yelped as Belphegor yelled at Yamamoto to think fast, lobbing a knife at his approaching form. He let out his typical laugh as Yamamoto parried it with his sword.

He was definitely right that there wouldn’t be any time to get bored with him around, even if that lack of boredom came through flippant violence and raging bloodlust.

 

Tsuna didn’t get it at all. But at least Yamamoto was quick enough on the draw to match the speed of Belphegor’s knives, so maybe it could work out.
